The new MUNCH in Oslo opens On 22 October at 5.00 pm the doors will open to the new MUNCH in Bjørvika, Oslo!. With eleven large exhibition halls on seven floors, the new Munch Museum (MUNCH) will be one of the world's largest art museums dedicated to just one artist. The museum will house more than 26,000 works that Edvard Munch bequeathed to the City of Oslo.
MUNCH is looking forward with excitement and anticipation to welcome the public in to the brand new museum in Bjørvika, the part of Oslo's harbour right behind the Opera house. Until that happens on 22 October, the museum will continue to offer both digital content and physical art experiences at MUNCH Tøyen.
- The new museum will be fantastic
with both our own collections as well as international exhibitions of world
format, says Stein Olav Henrichsen, director at MUNCH. From its location in Bjørvika, with
unparalleled views of the Oslo Fjord, visitors will experience the highlights of
Edvard Munch’s art, in parallel with a wide-ranging programme of cultural events
and experiences for visitors of all ages. |
